Holistic Survey of a Degraded Soilscape from Eastern Romania: Hypotesis of Reclamation and Social-Economical Development

New Data on Ichneumonid Hibernation(Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae)in the Barnova Forest Massif (Iasi County, Romania)

In this paper the authors present the results of their researches made in the period of 2006–2010 on the hibernation of some ichneumonid species in the Bârnova forest massif (Iaşi county). 30 species of ichneumonids (only females) belonging to 20 genera of the the subfamily Ichneumoninae were recorded. Five of these species are new as hibernating. During the studied period there were established 6 hibernating stations, but with a low abundance.

The influence of soil quality on life standard in Tutova Hills

Tutova hills is a Romanian area called the poverty pole of the European Union. The soil quality has a high influence on the standard of life of this population living in this conditions.

Development of protofragipanic horizon after severe degradation processes of greenhouses soil

Plant growing in greenhouses and plastic tunnels has some advantages: obtaining early production, plant protection against hail, hoarfrost, late spring and early autumn frosts. The main criteria considered for setting greenhouses are the existence of heating and water sources. Due to the compulsory location imposed by the above conditions, many greenhouses were placed on soils having low capability. After application of ameliorative measures some satisfactory results could be obtained on a relatively short period.
