Il brevetto fa riferimento ad un sistema che consente di controllare e variare la trasparenza del vetro con il minor dispendio di energia elettrica possibile, facendo uso di materiali e tecnologie che permettono la produzione di lastre di dimensioni tali da rientrare nella media di quelle più usate in edilizia e a costi tali da essere competitive rispetto a quelli dei vetri usuali per infissi in commercio, in rapporto alle prestazioni offerte.
