The new comic about Anna Akhmatova is an instance of transmedial translation; the new narrative however is not based on the writer's work but on her biography. This is justified by Akhmatova's conscious and active construction of her own life mythology. The lyrical hero of Akhmatova's poems started living her own life outside the texts: an analogous phenomenon has been observed concerning the heroes of mass-literature, Sherlock Holmes being an outstanding example.
