Abstract Purpose Bisphosphonate therapy is a well-established and effective treatment for postmenopausal osteoporosis and the prevention of osteoporotic fracture. However, poor adherence to and poor persistence with bisphosphonate therapy may reduce its benefits. Previous studies have documented the poor rates of adherence and persistence among postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
