This study aims to determine and  measuring the differences of the cognitive learning and activity on learners using direct instruction and cooperative TPS type in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Sorong. This research is Quasi-experimental research which used The Matching Only Posttest Control Group Design. This study occur on two classes; XI IPA 1 as an experimental class and class XI IPA 2 as the control class. The results shows that the average cognitive achievement test at 78,82 and the average activity 88,66, while the control class 70,59 and the average activity 84,21.
