Palladium coupling catalysts for pharmaceutical applications

2007

International audience; This review discusses recent advances made in the area of palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions and describes a selection of the catalytic systems that are useful in the preparation of valuable compounds for the pharmaceutical industry. Most of these types of syntheses have used either simple palladium salts or palladium precursors associated with electron-rich mono- or bidentate phosphine ligands as catalysts. For some reactions, ligands such as triphenyl phosphine, 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene, a carbene or a bipyridine have also been employed.
