To write is a complex, delicate and intense act. The goal of this study has been to find out what the process of creative writing looks like when viewed through the concepts of ritual and play. I have engaged with creative writing research, research on ritual and play, and new materialist philosophy. Research data has been formed by ethnographic methods in a writing group as well as my own creative work. I have applied ritual and play to create writing prompts and creative writing methods.
