Koululaisten fyysisen aktiivisuuden ja liikuntatunneilla koetun autonomian muutokset 7. luokalta 9. luokalle

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli analysoida koululaisten fyysisen aktiivisuuden ja liikuntatunneilla koetun autonomian muutoksia 7. luokalta 9. luokalle. Lisäksi tutkittiin liikuntatunneilla koetun autonomian yhteyttä fyysiseen aktiivisuuteen. Tutkimuksen osanottajiksi valittiin 639 (tytöt = 296, pojat = 343) keskisuomalaista koululaista, jotka olivat tutkimuksen alkaessa seitsemäsluokkalaisia. Tutkimukseen osallistui 8 koulua ja 32 opetusryhmää. Pitkittäisaineisto kerättiin 2007–2009 viidellä mittauskerralla, jotta alakoulusta yläkouluun siirtymisen jälkeistä kehitystrendiä voitiin seurata. The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between enjoyment, perceived physical activity competence, fundamental movement skills, and physical activity engagement of Grade 7 students participating in Finnish physical education. A secondary aim of the study was to examine gender differences in all assessed variables. The participants of the study were 404 Grade 7 students aged 13 years. Background: Previous studies based on self-reports show that a majority of children and adolescents in Western countries fail to achieve the recommendation of 60 minutes moderate to vigorous physical activity (PA) on a daily basis. The specific aim of the study was to analyze the relationship between directly measured and self-reported PA in a cross-sectional sample of Finnish secondary school students.
