description

Network, established in 2021, under the CEEPUS program. The University of Opole is a leader of the network of 15/universities from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Montenegro. We propose unique Border and Regional Studies Network comprised of 15/universities located in 10/countries of Central Europe and Balkans. The network’s thematic framework will address one of the crucial problems and challenges of the XXI century like migrations, multi-ethnic societies, revitalization of regional identities, border crossing and border revitalization (the last one strongly influenced by the pandemic). The main objective of the network is sharing and promoting of the high quality, up-to-date knowledge regarding border and regional studies among students and academics. This will be obtained by series of summer schools and seminars organized in different locations characterized by borderlandness and multi-ethnicity. In the long run we would like to establish tradition of meetings between scholars and students interested in border and regional studies, thereby building community of researchers within the CEEPUS countries.
