The research group is focusing on interdiscplinary concepts of Industry 4.0/in interaction with smart city. This group is engaged in looking for a universal model of smart city maturity. The MModel4SmartCity will provide specific analysis of best practices of smart cities based on measure of level smartness, business solutions and technologies to achieve a really smart city in all dimensions. The goal is to increase knowledge on the smart city maturity measurement. The research will also contribute to the development of strategic management theory, especially in research results and tools that can support the development of smart cities in particular dimensions. The proposed concept will contribute to the development of methodological knowledge in the scope of methods and tools, enabling the analysis of factors determining the level of maturity of the smart city. The scientific goal of the research group is to build an universal model of smart city maturity, supported in every area by technology 4.0, including set of maturity criteria assessed by stakeholders. This model will include tools that allow to measure the level of technology 4.0/support in the development of the smart city, will enable to benchmark it and will allow to plan strategic directions for smart transition (city development toward smart maturity). The cognitive goal is to identify the key variables of the model, as well as factors determining and supporting the application of Tech 4.0/in the smart city, dividing its stages of maturity. The methodological goal is to develop tools that allow to evaluate and rang the smart city maturity, and to build road maps for local authorities which would progress on smart maturity scale. Present activities are focused on initial research and preparation of application to European grants for international research groups.
