ABSTRACT Art History is a suitable subject for the achievement of intercultural objectives because the artistic production of a society reflects different cultures that have been in contact over the years. If we consider that it is at the Bachillerato stage at high school where this discipline is studied more closely and as a subject independent of History and Geography, it is supposed to be a time of preparation for university entrance, in which the teacher must not forget that It has another primary objective, that is, to enable to student to reach a certain degree of maturity. This presentation attempts to show how this subject may become the intercultural core of education at high school, through a legislative analysis and the establishment of specific lines of teaching performance. It has been seen how a methodology of reflection and comparison ensures that students understand and respect otherness, thanks to the fact that art shows how characteristics shared are greater than differences, and even differences are enriching and beautiful for those who come into contact with them.
