A typical mentor-moralizer in Porazińska's poetry is almost nonexistent. Instead, the reader finds a mentor-storyteller, a childs friend, whose omniscience serves to articulate the childs fate, which is particularly visible in realist poems. A creation of the mentor is determined by the genre. In lullabies and berceuse poems, the mentor is a tender caretaker; in fables the mentor instructs directly, using a touch of humor, or through a simple plot with a dominant feature and pure nonsense; in educational poems the mentor is hidden behind descriptions and storytelling; in jokes, portraits, and anecdotes the mentor uses short stories, etc. In all the presented forms the mentor has effective tools of persuasion at the disposal: contrast, humor, dialogue or short scenes. These tools make the didacticism easier to accept and move the mentor to the background.
