The article deals with iconography and devotion of the Madonna del Soccorso in western Sicily and Malta between the fourteenth and eighteenth centuries. It is a very well know marian worship, developed within the Agostinian Order, which from Palermo spread in the rest of the island and then progressively beyond the national boundaries.
