The study of corpse and bone manipulation during the middle and late Iron Age has been largely motivated by the repeated discovery of human deposits in the archaeological record, comprising of either whole corpses or dismantled bones. While rereading this hierarchical and complex behaviour, we must also consider the vocabulary that is used ta describe and analyse the process of funerary pratice and worship during the La Tène period.
