description

EnglishThe feminist movement in Spain arrived to its highest development in the seventies with the beginning of the democratic transition. The transitional process represented an opportunity for the vindication of the rights of women an established the new bases on the place they should represent in the future democratic society, and also to denounce the repression of the dictatorship imposed on behalf of women. Campaigns and political practices developed by the feminist movement in Spain were accompanied by symbols and slogans that were part of the symbolic production of the feminist movement as a social movement. These symbolic representations helped to set up a collective identity, while at the same time allowed them to display anywhere, shortly and clearly what was their political project
