La escritura sobre el pavimento callejero: Los mensajes de felicitación

The aim of this paper is to study the sidewalk as a communications medium, especially in the urban environment. To do so, we collected a corpus of a thousand institutional, businessrelated or personal messages from the sidewalk. This corpus comprises slogans, advertisements, protests, affectionate statements, congratulations... From among all these sidewalk writings, first we collected and examined messages targeting citizens in general, and then focused on birthday greetings in particular because they were more numerous and also because they reflect social transformations.El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar el suelo como soporte comunicativo, especialmente en las ciudades. Para ello, se ha recogido y analizado una muestra de mil mensajes terrestres de carácter institucional, empresarial y personal, constituida por consignas, anuncios, protestas, declaraciones de amor, felicitaciones, etc. De entre todos estos textos escritos en el pavimento, nos hemos centrado primero, en los realizados por la ciudadanía en general y después, en los de felicitación por cumpleaños porque, además de ser muy numerosos, son un claro reflejo de ciertas transformaciones sociales.
