The author of the article is a 1st year student of the Bachelor's study program at the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia (UL) and a scholarship holder of the University of Latvia Foundation, whose interests include historical research and public activity within the framework of patriotism. The author has carried out research on the press coverage of the founding of the UL in September 1919, when a decisive event in the history of the Latvian state - the Latvian War of Independence (1918-1920) - took place. The article provides an opportunity to learn new, innovative facts and research directions for future work by other scholarship holders of the UL Foundation or specialists in the history of the Museum of the University of Latvia.
