The flow of the communication and the flow of the medial communication take part in the processes of marginalization or centralization. The present construction of space and its actual classification is then introduced on grounds of testimonies of written words (the individual statements in letters, lyrics, journalism). This paper presents the progressing cultural marginalization of the Island landscape of Pomerania, and especially of the Island Rugen taking into account the three following phases: 1. Devaluation or evaluation of the north in the period of the Middle Ages and the early Modern Era in the context of the Christian mission and the Bible representation of order; 2. The beginning of the mythology of culture around 1800 which refers to Shakespeare, Rousseau, Ossian and to the Germanic and Scandinavian messages, and the same it makes from Pomerania an utopian and idyllic territory as well as a wild and uncivilized one what does also mean the formation of the pathetic landscape; 3. The penetration along the entire area of Pomerania of the forming centralistic processes related to the establishment of the state institutions and introduction of the order by the Prussian state after 1815
