The present article deals with the perception of «the oriental», a relevant topic nowadays, especially after the events of 11 September 2001, where Pandora's Case burst open with a negative vision of Muslim society. We will thus deal with the perception of the hammam, a Spanish geographical item, focusing our research in the Admiral´s Bath of Valencia, which have mistakenly been identified as Islamic and are, actually, Christian in origin.
