The experiment, presented to the subjects as an enquiry by means of an interview, tookplace in two stages. Stage 1 : measurement of the subjects' attitude. Only the "extremized" attitudes were retained (quite favourable, or quite unfavourable) or median (neutral). Stage 2 : the subject was invited to attend an interview during which the interviewer did not do any of the usual prompting : he stated and defended an opinion that varied according to the experimental conditions. It was either congruent or non congruent with the subjects' attitude. This argumentation was divided between seven interventions that were not developed in observing the rule of cooperation since their content was programmed in advance. Twentyeight interviews divided between four experimental conditions were obtained. The analysis concerns three language indicators : 1/ rate of discursive prolixity ; 2/ characteristics of the marks of agreement, 3/ number of implicits (and in particular presupposed) produced by the subjects. A differentiated exchange management is noted depending on the two variables handled : subjects’ attitude extremized or median, congruent or uncongruent opinion of the interviewer. The Median subjects react massively to the absence of collaboration. There is no difference between situation in which interviewer’s opinion was congruent and situation in which it was non congruent with the subjects’ attitude, on most of indicators analysed. At the opposite faced with an interlocutor whose opinion is contrary to their own and who does not observe the rule of cooperation, the extremized subjects try to listen to the exchange and multiply their endeavours of non cooperation, whereas faced with an opinion congruent with theirs they are not sensitive to the lack of cooperation
