Muscle reconditioning techniques have been developed extensively in these recent years as part of the reeducation of the atrophied muscle, but also to reinforce the healthy muscle of the sedentary or sportive subject. The monitoring of the stimulated muscle by recording the electrical activity and the muscle response is necessary to detect for example the muscle fatigue and/or avoid tissue damage in the case of deconditioned muscle. The aim of this thesis is initially to analyse the muscle response in terms of force produced as response to the electrostimulation (ES). This analysis has allowed us to develop a new force model that can predict the effect of the stimulation amplitude of the current. A second part concerns the optimization and the control of the muscle response to an ES session. To that end, control techniques are applied to the stimulation parameters in order to develop a desired muscle force. This work is based on an existing mathematical model that accurately reflects the muscle response to electrostimulation which is alsoadapted to our application in the first part of analysis. The obtained results are promising. The experimental testswill be able to validate the robustness of such applied techniques which may be proposed in the industrial field. This thesis work has an application mainly dedicated to muscularly deconditioned people with a real contributionregarding the effectiveness and safety of stimulations.
