Entendemos por palabras sabias aquellas con las que ciertos personajes intentan restablecer el equilibrio en el conflicto trágico. En las tragedias de Séneca casi todos los personajes femeninos, protagonistas o secundarios, pronuncian palabras sabias, ya sea para satisfacer sus deseos (equilibrio personal) o para reintroducir el equilibrio en los acontecimientos. El personaje de la nodriza realiza esta función. Sus intervenciones tienen el mismo esquema en todas las obras en las que aparece, y tiene un importante papel en la arquitectura de la obra, tanto en el nivel narrativo, como en el didáctico y en el de la tragicidad. En las tragedias sin nodriza otro personaje realiza su función. El coro también contiene palabras sabias dirigidas directamente a los espectadores. We understand as wise words those with which certain characters intend to restore the balance to the tragic conflict. In the tragedies of Seneca almost all female characters, protagonist or secondary, pronounce wise words either to satisfy their desires (the personal balance) or to restore the balance to events. The nurse’s chacaracter stands out in this function. Her interventions have the same scheme and play an important role in the architecture of the work, likewise in the narrative level tan in the didactic and in the tragic one. In the tragedies without nurse, another character performs this function. The chorus also contains wise words addressed directly to the spectators.
