description

Every historical epoch believes that the historiography of the preceding period is unsatisfactory: in this way it rewrites History, in other words it expresses its own historiography. It seeks in History the “past of its present”: the historian questions the past from its own present. The scholars of Architecture’s History have a sensitivity that nowadays is assisted by a constant evolution: in this way many disciplines are involved, and these ones become technologically capable of bringing a new awareness to the knowledge of the “cultural scaffolding” of territory. Our study aims to show how different techniques of architectural survey (with the aid of the 3D photomodeling methods) have allowed the identification of the dimensional, geometric and formal elements of an extraordinary Renaissance garden located in the territory of Castelbuono (PA).
