Spanish Abstract: Considerada durante mucho tiempo como una justicia de segunda clase, la mediacion civil y comercial goza hoy de una presencia y un apoyo nunca antes conocido. En el presente articujlo se aborda el juego que la mediacion puede prestar a la resolucion de los conflictos comerciales, destacando el largo camino que todavia resta para obtener todos los beneficios que la institucion puede prestar. English Abstract: Civil and commercial mediation has been considered a second class justice tool for long time. However, this situation is changing and mediation is starting to play a relevant role in the solution of commercial conflicts. This article approaches the topics and disputes covered by mediation and the prospective role to be played by this institution in the future.
