Reciente hallazgo de aes grave -as- en el Algarve (Portugal)

The article aims to document a new serious aes grave coin, dated approximately between 275 and 270 BC. Although it is part of a private collection, we know that was found in the south of Portugal, specifically in Figueirinha (parish of S. Marcos da Ataboeira, Castro Verde municipality). Additionally, we seek to relate this finding with other coins also recovered in the Iberian Peninsula, a connection that leads us to conclude that this Roman coin must have been brought to the region after the outbreak of the Second Punic War.
