Master´s thesis in Fine Arts (KF500) This master’s thesis is a practice-based project, where I have investigated the concepts of loneliness and aesthetic experience as a prerequisite for an artistic approached work process. By definition, artistic development is; creative processes that lead to a publicly available artistic product (Malterud, Lai, Nyrnes, & Thorsen, 2015, p. 10). The master’s project is practice-based, which means that the project will present as an exhibition, a written text about the project, and a 20-minute oral presentation. In the project, I have conducted theoretical research on loneliness and aesthetic experience and invited the audience to participate by sharing their experiences with loneliness. The theoretical investigation and these experiences are used as a prerequisite for a practical aesthetic work that has resulted in a participatory, site-specific installation.
