They try to define the issues that contemporary theatre faces today, especially in its relationship with the new off-stage realities. They also dwell on how theatre retains, develops and re-imagines its role of a defender of humanity and harmony in an increasingly disharmonious society. All this is especially shared for the readers of this book. Only in the case of the late Lithuanian director Eimuntas Nekrosius are excerpts of existing interviews with him and about him used.
