The purpose of the paper is to present potential possibilities of men’s active involvement in prenatal care and childbirth. The data regarding this subject is based on the WHO’s Report entitled ‘Fatherhood and Health outcomes in Europę’ (World Health Organisation, 2007). The practical implications can be summarized as follows. Firstly, the ultrasound examination is an extremely important factor for fathers, as they perceive this as a confirmation of a new life. They should be encouraged to attend it. Secondly, fathers should participate in prenatal preparation courses and preventive health care consultations. Thirdly, men should be more encouraged to use the Internet as a significant resource in their knowledge about becoming fathers.
