Singing is recognized as the most primary form of human contact with music. This art is an important element of the development,education and upbringing of the young generation. Inviting a child to the world of music lies first with the parent and then with the teacher. The popularity of various types of textbooks, songbooks or guidebooks indicates a great interest in music education. Although singing cannot be learned from a book, such studies are a great help. The author of the textbook Gesanglehre guided the idea of introducing the child to the world of music and showing the right ways of making music. This position was developed by Bernhard Kothe in 1872, and later perfected it in subsequent editions. This article describes the content of this book and tries to assess its value.
