The turn of the modern human from the supernatural realm, and from the spiritual dimension - from transcendence - results in a vision of a world in whichthere is no place for the God-Creator and in which the story of creation is supplanted by evolution. On the antipodes of this contemporary trend of culture, which rejects the theme of creation and the vision of the God-Creator, the book of Katarzyna Citko Post tenebras Lux - awarded the Masurian Orpheus Prize in 2015, situates itself. In the poetic message of the volume, the author talks about the mystery of everyday life, which she experiences, about the experienced epiphany of the God-Creator, thus, giving expression to an authentic, deep faith in the creation, which takes place in front of her eyes and ours. The Poet finds the experience of the living God also in the Bibie. Numerous biblical characters filling the volume are an expression of a profound experience of God’s Word, in which the Risen Jesus present in the new creation stands in the centre. That is why the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament belong in the volume to the most important texts, though not the only one, which the Poet from Białystok refers to, constantly playing intertextual games with it. Citing events from the history of salvation, biblical figures, and prayer forms, she expresses a belief, which is close to the experience of Israel, that God accompanies the everyday life of humans. Thus, Post tenebras Lux brings a simple and hopeful answer - written with a poetic word, and resulting from the Christian worldview - to the existential question about the place of the human being in the cosmic universe towards the Absolute. We are not accidental beings - we exist from the Light, from God, from love, for the Light, for God, and for love.
