La legitimidad de la reconstrucción indoeuropea ha sido históricamente puesta en entredicho por motivos muy variados. De cara a una mejora del método reconstructivo, la comparación con el bien conocido grupo románico, a causa de su innegable relación con el latín, nos ofrece un banco de pruebas potencialmente muy útil y puede ayudarnos por analogía a ponderar la validez del método tradicional. The legitimacy of Indo-European reconstruction has historically been called into question for different reasons. A comparison with the well-known Romance linguistic group, because of its undeniable relationship with Latin, offers us a set of potentially very useful test cases for improving the reconstructive method. Additionally, and by analogy, such a comparison can help us to weigh the validity of the traditional method.
