The aim of the article is to present a specifically female approach to memory in Tanja Stupar Trifunović’s novel Satovi u majćinoj sobi (Clocks in My Motherś Room). The novel is a kind of herstory; the Bosnian author reconstructed his own memory of the past after mothers death and initiated a female genealogy in her family this way. The form in which she manages to achieve this is an open mosaic novel. Full of ambivalence, home memory is a main element of the narrator’s identity, struggling with creative challenges and doubts because she is a writer. The story follows the rhythm of memory, the focus is on the mother-daughter and daughter-mother relationship, and the autobiographical memory is set in time (childhood, youth) and in space (mother’s home, especially her room and garden), where it also becomes active body memory.
