An analysis of the archaeological data, the topographical and documentary sources of Christianity in the vast territory between the Belice and Salso rivers, which, in Late Antiquity, fell under the Diocese of Agrigento and Triocala (Caltabellotta today) and that, only with Rogerii et Siciliae Calabriae Comitis Privilegium of 1093, were fully allocated to Gerlando,the bishop of Agrigento.
