Author: González Marhuenda, Pedro; Date: 2020 Abstract: This video is about the photoelectric effect, that is, the emission of electrons by a metal when it is lighted up. For this emission to occur the frequency of the light has to reach or exceed a characteristic threshold frequency for each metal. The effect is first visualized with a home-built electroscope, which allows us to observe the discharge of a zinc plate when lighted up with an ultraviolet lamp. Then, a more elaborate experimental setup allows for a more detailed analysis of the dependence of the electron emission on the intensity and frequency of the incident light.Production: Servei de Formació Permanent i Innovació Educativa (www.uv.es/sfpie)
