Distillation is the most widely used method to obtain an essential oil from plant material. The biomass used in the process is returned as a solid residue together with variable amounts of water rich in water-soluble compounds, which currently are not addressed to any further application. The scope of this work was to evaluate the phytochemical composition of wastewaters coming from hydrodistillation (DWWs) of five aromatic plants belonging to the Lamiaceae family, and to assess their in vitro antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Science fiction parody in Don Rosa’s ”Attack of the Hideous Space-Varmints"

This article concentrates on the comic “Attack of the Hideous Space Varmints” (1997) by Disney artist Don Rosa. The comic deals with Earthlings who invade the territory of one-eyed aliens. The aim is to study Rosa’s comic from a parodic perspective: how Rosa uses science fiction tropes characteristic to the 1950s cinema and comics and ridicules them. My methods consist of close reading followed by formalist comic analysis. While doing so, I also utilize the concept of metalepsis. El propósito de la presente investigación es realizar un análisis lingüístico de textos extraídos de novela rosa española de diferentes épocas (siglo XX y actual) desde la teoría de la enacción. El análisis se articula alrededor de las diferencias de género. Se parte del dominio emocional de las relaciones amorosas entre hombres y mujeres, que son las que caracterizan la novela rosa trabajada. Desde ese punto de partida, el estudio defiende la interrelación entre los roles sociales y mentales de los seres humanos de acuerdo con los roles de género y los papeles semánticos en el lenguaje.
