Master's Thesis popular music MUR502 - University of Agder 2018 This thesis tackles some of the complicated internal issues that has colored the chipscene. Through analyzing discourse in blog posts, academic material and online communication between chiptune practitioners it aims to define the current generation of chiptune musicians. Interviewing figures of interest has given insight into the aesthetic of chiptune and what is important to the current community. Analyzing the aesthetic values can give insight into the elements of the genre that is so difficult to define. Masteroppgave rytmisk musikk MUR502 - Universitetet i Agder 2018 I denne oppgaven har jeg belyst det jeg oppfatter som sentrale elementer ved trommesound i studio. Jeg har drøftet hva som blir oppfattet som en ønsket trommesound med tanke på sammenheng. For å tilføre oppgaven validitet har jeg valgt å intervjue tre sentrale utøvere på dette feltet. Grunnlaget for oppgaven ligger i min egen undring i hvordan en som musiker kan med stor sikkerhet kan oppnå et resultat som er ønskelig på fast basis.

Master's Thesis popular music MUR502 - University of Agder 2018 This dissertation seeks to explore the techniques that has developed in the live sampling community that surrounds the University of Agder from the perspective of a sampler using the iPad and the app called Samplr. The research is meant to explore techniques that have only been an oral tradition for us students, and to get some of these techniques for improvisation with sampling written down. The concept of live sampling is by definition a musical discussion with other more conventional instruments.
