Stress test based on Oliver Wyman in Bank of Spain: an evaluation

This paper, based on econometric techniques, has done a study to improve the predictions of the stress test, concerning the estimation of impairment losses. The main results obtained are: 1) the impact of the explanatory variables on the impairment loss is different at stages of growth, compared to times of recession; 2) there is a certain inertia of the dependent variable, but this inertia is different in intensity, and even the sign in the growth stages concerning the stages of recession; 3) of the explanatory variables, nominal GDP and equity are those that have a greater impact on the impairment loss; 4) finally, the two dummy variables that assess the impact of adjustment to market val…

This paper presents the first results of a research project developed in the last year. It aims at analysing and comparing the impact of the crisis on economy and labour market in the Southern European Countries (SECs). In the sociological and economic literature, these countries are considered similar up to the point of being included in a unique socio-economic model, named 'Mediterranean'. ResumenEl objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar las razones por las que las empresas manufactureras españolas conceden crédito comercial a sus clientes. Hemos analizado teórica y empíricamente 2 aspectos: el efecto producido por la crisis financiero-económica y la importancia que tiene la diversificación de la actividad y el tipo de cliente al que se le concede el crédito comercial. Stable isotope ratios from tree rings and peatland mosses have become important proxies of past climate variations. We here compare recent stable carbon and oxygen isotope ratios in cellulose of tree rings from white spruce (Picea glauca), growing near the arctic tree line; and cellulose of Sphagnum fuscum stems, growing in a hummock of a subarctic peatland, in west-central Canada. Results show that carbon isotopes in S. fuscum correlate significantly with July temperatures over the past ~20 yr. The oxygen isotopes correlate with both summer temperature and precipitation. The paper analyses the implementation of the RDP 2007-2013 for Sicily up to 31/12/2013, with particular reference to the Measure 112 and its related measures (Young People Package).
