Production and Characterization of the $^{7}$H Resonance
2006
Détecteur MAYA; International audience; The 7H resonance was produced via one-proton transfer reaction between a 8He beam at 15.4A MeV and a 12C gas target. The experimental setup was based on the active-target MAYA which allowed a complete reconstruction of the reaction kinematics. The characterization of the identified 7H events resulted in a resonance energy of 600 keV above the 3H+4n threshold and a resonance width of 100 keV. This study represents the first unambiguous proof of the existence of the 7H state.

A facility for fast-neutron irradiations at Jyväskylä and its use for nuclide cross-section measurements in fission
2013
Abstract An efficient and reliable transport system for fast-neutron irradiations has been built at the Physics Department, Jyvaskyla, Finland. It is constructed from commercial bicycle components and is driven by a computer-controlled stepping motor. It can be operated in single or cyclic mode. The neutron irradiated targets are moved within 1.2 s (full stop to full stop) to a well-shielded position 3 m away where they can be removed or directly investigated by γ spectroscopy. The system has been built with the aim to experimentally verify the calculated production rates of neutron-rich nuclei in the SPIRAL2 uranium target. However, the facility can be used for various kinds of fast-neutro…
Human-technology relations in an age of surveillance capitalism. Towards an anthropological theory of the dialectic between analogue and digital huma…
2021
What can anthropology contribute to the current debates about the negative effects of social media on people? Starting from a critique of anthropological work that sees human subjectivity and culture as ontologically unaffected by social media use, I propose that human engagement with these digital technologies produces significant ontological transformations that deserve more attention. I develop my analysis in dialogue with Boellstorff’s ontology of the digital, Nardi’s theorisation of virtuality and affordances, and Zuboff’s formulation of surveillance capitalism, and I use empirical illustrations from the Cambridge Analytica data scandal to highlight key theoretical junctures. My main c…
Could Cambridge Analytica Have Delivered Donald Trump’s 2016 Presidential Victory? An Anthropologist’s Look at Big Data and Political Campaigning
2021
Abstract I first provide some context about Cambridge Analytica’s (ca) activities, linking them to ca parent company, scl Group, which specialised in “public relations” campaigns around the world across multiple sectors (from politics to defence and development), with the explicit aim of behavioural change. I then analyse in more detail the claims made by mathematician and machine learning scholar David Sumpter, who dismisses the possibility that ca might have successfully deployed internet psychographics (e.g. online personality profiling) in the winning 2016 Trump presidential campaign in the US. I critique his arguments, pointing at the need to focus on the bigger picture and on the tota…
18F-Radiolabeling, Preliminary Evaluation of Folate-pHPMA Conjugates via PET
2014
The synthesis of a 10.5 kDa and a 52.5 kDa polymer, based on pHPMA functionalized with tyramine for (18) F-labeling and a folate derivative as targeting moiety, is reported. FCS studies are conducted using Oregon Green-labeled conjugates. No aggregation is observed for the 10.5 kDa conjugate, but strong aggregation for the 52.5 kDa conjugate. In vivo studies are conducted using Walker-256 mammary carcinoma model to determine body distribution as function of size and especially targeting unit. These in vivo studies show a higher short time (2 h) accumulation for both conjugates in the tumor than for untargeted pHPMA, confirmed by blockade studies. The 10.5 kDa polymer accumulates with 0.46% …
La Corte costituzionale apre al divieto di retroattività del novum penitenziario in malam partem.
2020
With a courageous judgment, the Constitutional Court extends the application scope of art. 25, par. 2, Cost. in the criminal enforcement sector. Censoring the living law, the Court states the prohibition of the retroactivity of the measures more afflictive introduced by law no. 3 of 2019 to convicts who committed the fact before its entry into force. The Author, after dwelling on the new paradigm of "European legality", retraces the salient passages of the decision, from which it draws the innovative message of the Judge of the laws.
Serve ancora ucidere i tiranni? A proposito di Ps. Quint. decl. min. 253
2018
The paper deals with Ps. Quint. decl. min. 253; in the text, concerning one of the best-known themes of the declamatory literature, a tyrannicide, after killing a tyrant, asks the community for approval of a rogatio in order to be sent to the tyrant of the nearby city. The declamation focuses on a hero willing to put the salvation of the community before his own, a theme certainly usual in Latin thought, but which traces new interpretative ways in the declamatory culture.

Breve storia di una riforma incompiuta
2018
