Violência, evasão e exclusão na educação superior
2019
The present text focuses on a relationship between higher education, institutional and symbolic violence and exclusion, practicing as a challenge based on reflections on the existence of evasion in Brazilian university. Ignoring the educational institution as a direct responsible for these things, this text considers that a logic in University organization and operation helps to enlarge inequalities that provide the mechanisms of evasion; at the same time, it presents itself as a space of reference and a struggle against social inequalities and violence. On a provisional basis, the text stands out that: depending on the execution of educational procedures and practices undertaken by the ins…
ACTO II / ACT II Mujeres / Women ¿Es gay la música de Chopin? Aspectos de la recepción de la música de Chopin en el siglo XIX
2021
Considering that it is difficult, if not impossible, for an analysis of Chopin?s music to unmask some aspects of his private life (such as an alleged sexual and affective attraction for individuals of his own sex), we can however argue that, throughout the 19th century, a connection was established between his work and a ?feminine universe.? That connection might have had implications in the way in which the feminized image of its author was constructed. The analysis of certain aesthetic and stylistic traits of Chopin?s music can help understand the causes of that perception.
Co-culture of rat brain cells as a tool for studying cell-cell interactions
2012
Brain capillary endothelial cells (BCECs) form the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in response to interaction with other brain cells (astrocytes, pericytes and neurons). BCECs are characterized by tight junctions (TJ), maturation and stabilization of which require different proteins, such as occludin. When co-cultured with astrocytes and neurons, BCECs were found to form a monolayer resembling the natural BBB: paracellular flux of dopamine and sucrose (i.e. compounds which are unable to cross the BBB in vivo) significantly decreased (1), while the transendothelial electrical resistance (TEER) increased. In these conditions, BCECs produced a larger amount of occludin and tended to localize it at t…
Anonymization as homeomorphic data space transformation for privacy-preserving deep learning
2021
Industry 4.0 is largely data-driven nowadays. Owners of the data, on the one hand, want to get added value from the data by using remote artificial intelligence tools as services, on the other hand, they concern on privacy of their data within external premises. Ideal solution for this challenge would be such anonymization of the data, which makes the data safe in remote servers and, at the same time, leaves the opportunity for the machine learning algorithms to capture useful patterns from the data. In this paper, we take the problem of supervised machine learning with deep feedforward neural nets and provide an anonymization algorithm (based on the homeomorphic data space transformation),…
Measuring tourist satisfaction and dissatisfaction: adaptation of the 4Q methodology to the case of web based data
2019
Tourist satisfaction has been studied so far using many different theoretical approaches and measurement models. In doing that, scholars have considered satisfaction and dissatisfaction either as two extremes on a single continuum or two distinct conceptual dimensions, i.e. tourist satisfaction (TS) and tourist dissatisfaction (TD) (Alegre and Garau, 2010). In line with the latter approach, known as dual approach, the 4Q is a methodology which permits to measure TS and TD through the administration of just four open-ended questions to tourists (Oliveri et al., 2018). The main feature of the 4Q methodology is that data regarding dozens of TS and TD elementary indicators can be drawn from the…
Upper thermal threshold of Lepidurus arcticus (Branchiopoda, Notostraca) in lakes on the southern outreach of its distribution range
2021
Qvenild T, Fjeld E, Fjellheim A, Hammar J, Hesthagen T and Lakka H-K. 2021. Upper thermal threshold of Lepidurus arcticus (Branchiopoda, Notostraca) in lakes on the southern outreach of its distribution range. Fauna norvegica 41: 50–88. The Arctic tadpole shrimp Lepidurus arcticus has a circumpolar distribution and the Scandes (Fennoscandian Mountains) marks its southernmost limit in Europe. Within this area, 391 natural and 88 regulated lakes with L. arcticus have been identified, of which 87% are above the treeline. The lakes hosting L. arcticus decrease in altitude from south to north, which results from its temperature preferences. The majority of the locations are at a lower lake air t…
La nuova soglia di punibilità nell'omesso versamento delle ritenute previdenziali e assistenziali fra dimensione dogmatica e capacità "selettiva"
2019
This study concerns the new financial threshold of punishability introduced by legislative decree n. 8/2016 for the criminal offence of failing to pay pension and welfare deductions (art. 2 legis. Decree n. 463/ 1983). After a critical examination of the first interventions of the Supreme Court on its theoretical framework, the essay analyses the significant relationships between the harmfulness of the offence and the threshold itself, to individuate its legal nature. In the first place, we highlight how the protected interest cannot be read in financial terms, as the protection of functional interests emerges, to be anchored, amongst others, to the constitutional principles about pensions …

Constant sign and nodal solutions for parametric anisotropic $(p, 2)$-equations
2021
We consider an anisotropic ▫$(p, 2)$▫-equation, with a parametric and superlinear reaction term.Weshow that for all small values of the parameter the problem has at least five nontrivial smooth solutions, four with constant sign and the fifth nodal (sign-changing). The proofs use tools from critical point theory, truncation and comparison techniques, and critical groups. Spletna objava: 9. 9. 2021. Abstract. Bibliografija: str. 1076.
