Characterization of the ESR response of alanine dosimeters to low-energy (1-40 keV) X-rays

The aminoacid L-a-alanine has attracted considerable interest for use in radiation ESR dosimetry and has been formally accepted as a secondary standard for high-dose (kGy) and transfer dosimetry . The accuracy of the method is quite high, largely due to the low dependence of the alanine response on various irradiation parameters (photon energies above 100 keV, dose rate, temperature, etc.). Furthermore, this system presents alinear response to dose, fairly high sensitivity, tissue equivalence, absence of fading, small dimensions, ruggedn ess, and non-destructive readout. Deep learning algorithms for gravitational waves core-collapse supernova detection

The detection of gravitational waves from core-collapse supernova (CCSN) explosions is a challenging task, yet to be achieved, in which it is key the connection between multiple messengers, including neutrinos and electromagnetic signals. In this work, we present a method for detecting these kind of signals based on machine learning techniques. We tested its robustness by injecting signals in the real noise data taken by the Advanced LIGO-Virgo network during the second observation run, O2. Nuorten syrjäytymisestä on viime vuosina oltu huolissaan. Pahimmillaan siirtymä alakoulusta yläkouluun toimii syrjäytymiseen johtavana kuiluna koulutuspolulla. Herkkään siirtymäaikaan liittyvät riskitekijät olisi tärkeää tunnistaa ennaltaehkäisyn tueksi. Tämän pro gradu –tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella oppilaiden siirtymäkokemusten kehitystä alakoulusta yläkouluun. Tavoitteena oli selvittää, onko erityisoppilaana oleminen yhteydessä siirtymäkokemuksien laatuun. Lisäksi tarkasteltiin, toimiiko erityisopetus selittävänä tekijänä kokemusten mahdollisille muutoksille senkin jälkeen, kun sukupuoli ja koulumenestys on vakioitu.
