Starting from a synthetic review of the studies about the importance of symbolic dimension for the construction of Cosa Nostra’s power (from the area of knowledge to the one of identity, from rituals to myths and apologetics), the paper analyses the ambiguity of the talk-interactions between “men of honour” during the development of conversational grounding for their inter-subjectivity (in Schegloff‘s words). In this paper, the contradiction and ambiguity problems in Natural language Processing are briefly introduced. We also present the morpho-syntactic WIH (Web Intelligent Handler) prototype and the overall approach it takes to process any Spanish text. Finally, we analyze how it processes Spanish sentences with contradictions or ambiguities using its own perspective, despite deeper linguistic considerations.
Relationships between burnout and role ambiguity, role conflict and employee absenteeism among health workers

The aim of this research was to analyze the influence of some psychosocial risk factors in the development of burnout and to analyze the influence of this phenomenon on employee absenteeism. The study sample included 142 health care workers. The data analysis included descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression models. The results confirmed the influence of role ambiguity and role conflict on burnout [F (2.139) = 26.720; p < .001], but the influence of burnout on employee absenteeism was not confirmed. However, a significant and positive relationship has been shown between burnout and employee absenteeism (ß = 0.197; p < .05). In conclusion, the findings of this study support the …

Organizational dysfunction caused by role ambiguity in professional organizations has been studied since the 1960s (Kahn et al, 1964). In his seminal work on social contract theory, Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes described the anarchic pre-societal condition of the state of nature. In this predicament – aptly named as “the war of all against all” – people lived poor, short and brutish lives. The dystopian world simulated in the survival horror game DayZ mirrors this natural state of man. The game invites players to roleplay survivors of a zombie apocalypse.
