In Nebrodi Mountains (N-E Sicily), the genus Mentha is represented by an high number of species, in many cases typical of humid and subhumid environments. This work was addressed to investigate about the biomorphological traits of various accessions belonging to 3 Mentha species collected in the Nebrodi highlands, namely 22 accessions of Mentha spicata, 12 of Mentha suaveolens and 13 of Mentha aquatica. The estimation of neuronal activity in the human brain from electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) signals is a typical inverse problem whose solution pro- cess requires an accurate and fast forward solver. In this paper the method of fundamental solutions is, for the first time, proposed as a meshfree, boundary-type, and easy-to-implement alternative to the boundary element method (BEM) for solving the M/EEG forward problem. The solution of the forward problem is obtained by numerically solving a set of coupled boundary value problems for the three-dimensional Laplace equation. Le tecniche di rilievo topografico sono utilizzate da sempre per il monitoraggio di superfici rocciose per ottenere indicazioni sui micromovimenti degli stessi ammassi. Le esperienze recentemente maturate in ambito geologico-applicativo hanno mostrato le potenzialità della tecnica laser scanning long range come ausilio nel rilievo delle superfici rocciose per la possibilità di acquisire un’elevata quantità di dati con rapidità, ma con il limite di una accuratezza non inferiore al centimetro. Tali attività si svolgono con un continuo adeguamento al ciclo delle stagioni e al ripetersi dei fenomeni fisici. Per questo si parla di "equilibrio dinamico" delle coste, che dipende da un complesso di fattori naturali e antropici.
