Les restes animaux de la nécropole de Povegliano-Ortaia (IIe-Ier siècle avant notre ère)

International audience; Plus d'un millier de restes animaux ont été recueillis dans vingt-deux inhumations, dix-sept crémations et six sépultures au rite indéterminé. Deux espèces se distinguent par leur fréquence, le porc et la volaille. Le bœuf et les caprinés sont moins fréquents, alors que le cheval, le chien, l'oie et l'ours sont rares. La plupart des porcs sont très jeunes, avec notamment des sujets périnataux. Ils sont souvent déposés sous forme d'épaules, de jambons ou de séries de côtes. Genetic variability at αs2-casein gene in Girgentana dairy goat breed

Casein genes are highly polymorphic and the high degree of variability has qualitative and quantitative effects on milk composition thereby affecting chemical, physical and technological properties of goat milk. The aim of this work was to evaluate the genetic polymorphisms of the αs2-casein (CSN1S2) gene in the endangered Girgentana dairy goat breed in order to assess the genotypes distribution, as it is known genotype influences technological and nutritional milk properties.
