Search for pair production of neutral Higgs bosons in Z$^0$ decays

The pair production of the lightest scalar Higgs boson, h, and a pseudoscalar Higgs boson, A, was searched for in a data sample containing 10 000 hadronic Z0 decays. The search involved both leptonic and purely hadronic decay channels of each Higgs boson. No signal was found, and limits on the Higgs boson masses, in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model, ar reported up to 35 GeV/c2 at 95% CL, for both tan β > 1 and tan β < 1, where tan β is the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets.
A precise measurement of the Z resonance parameters through its hadronic decays

A measurement of the cross section for e+e-→ hadrons using 11 000 hadronic decays of the Z boson at ten different center-of-mass energies is presented. A three-parameter fit gives the following values for the Z mass MZ, the total width ΓZ, the product of the electronic and hadronic partial widths ΓeΓh, and the unfolded pole cross section σ0: MZ = 91.171 ± 0.030 (stat.) ± 0.030 (beam) GeV, ΓZ = 2.511 ± 0.065 GeV, ΓeΓh = 0.148 ± 0.006 (stat.) ± 0.004 (syst.) GeV2, σ0 = 41.6 ± 0.7 (stat.) ± 1.1 (syst.) nb, Good agreement with the predictions of the standard model is observed. Search for lepton flavor violating decays τ±→l± ω

A search for lepton flavor violating decays of a {tau} to a lighter-mass charged lepton and an {omega} vector meson is performed using 384.1 fb{sup -1} of e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation data collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center PEP-II storage ring. No signal is found, and the upper limits on the branching ratios are determined to be {beta}({tau}{sup {+-}} {yields} e{sup {+-}}{omega}) < 1.1 x 10{sup -7} and {beta}({tau}{sup {+-}} {yields} {mu}{sup {+-}}{omega}) < 1.0 x 10{sup -7} at 90% confidence level.
Measurement of the b hadron lifetime with the dipole method

A measurement of the average lifetime of b hadrons has been performed with the dipole method on a sample of 260000 hadronic Z decays recorded with the ALEPH detector during 1991. The dipole is the distance between the vertices built in the opposite hemispheres. The mean dipole is extracted from all the events without attempting b enrichment. Comparing the average of the data dipole distribution with a Monte Carlo calibration curve obtained with different b lifetimes, an average b hadron lifetime of 1.51 +/- 0.08 ps is extracted. Observation of the baryonic decayB¯0→Λc+p¯K−K+

We report the observation of the baryonic decay B^0 → Λ^+_c pK^−K^+ using a data sample of 471×10^6 BB pairs produced in e^+e^− annihilations at √s = 10.58 GeV. This data sample was recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring at SLAC. We find B(B^0 → Λ^+_c pK^−K^+)=(2.5±0.4_((stat))±0.2_((syst))± 0.6_(B(Λ^+_c)))×10^(−5), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the uncertainty of the Λ^+_c →p K^−π^+ branching fraction, respectively. The result has a significance corresponding to 5.0 standard deviations, including all uncertainties. Study ofe+e−→pp¯π0in the vicinity of theψ(3770)

The process e(+)e(-) -> p (p) over bar pi(0) has been studied by analyzing data collected at root s = 3.773 GeV, root s = 3.650 GeV, and during a psi(3770) line shape scan with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross section of p (p) over bar pi(0) in the vicinity of the psi(3770) is measured, and the Born cross section of psi(3770) -> p (p) over bar pi(0) is extracted considering interference between resonant and continuum production amplitudes. Two solutions with the same probability and a significance of 1.5 sigma are found. The solutions for the Born cross section of psi(3770) -> p (p) over bar pi(0) are 33.8 +/- 1.8 +/- 2.1 pb and 0.06(-0.04-0.01)(+0.10+0.01) pb ( ->…
