This chapter is aimed at a wide audience ranging from biologists to medical students and cancer specialists. It provides a comprehensive overview of systems approaches to the pathology and treatment of cancer. In particular, it addresses diagnosis and therapy by interconnecting various aspects of cancer at both the molecular and clinical level, and contrasts the unifying features of malignancies with the daunting diversity of cancer types, stages, and evolutionary processes during treatment. The importance is emphasized of both prevention and innovative treatments in reducing the cancer burden, and of early detection as the link between these two major areas. International audience; A team consisting of three mathematics education teacher-researchers, four former Foundation students (called Student Partners, SPs), and two analytic assistants worked together to produce mathematical tasks in a computer medium for the mathematical learning of current Foundation students (FSs). We have explored the collaboration between the SPs and researchers, the processes and outcomes of task design, and the contribution of the collaboration to tutorial teaching of FSs. International audience; In this paper, we present the monetary debates in Europe from the XVIth to the XVIIIth centuries from the viewpoint of the problem of good and sound money. The framework of the paper is built on a typology of monetary systems, by which a dualist system is distinguished from a metallic one. The keloids are fibroproliferative disorders described by an excessive growth of fibrotic tissue, which also invades adjacent areas (beyond the original wound borders). Since these disorders are specific to humans (no other animal species naturally develop keloid-like tissue), the experimental in vivo/in vitro research has not lead to significant advances in this field. C448 was isolated from a soil regularly exposed to sulfamethazine(SMZ), for its ability to partly mineralise this antibiotic and other related sulfonamides.The aim of our study was to explore its metabolic adaptation towards exposure to SMZenvironmental (10 mg/L) and medicinal (250 mg/L) concentrations. Capturing learning in classroom interaction in mathematics: Methodological considerations

International audience; This paper discusses issues of how to transcribe and analyze video-recordings when studying learning in small group work in mathematics. Since bodily features of interaction and the use of artefacts play important roles in mathematical reasoning, a multimodal approach to transcribing is necessary. Thus, the theoretical grounding for transcriptions has to be in accord with the perspective on learning adopted in the analysis. In the paper, the principles for studying what Radford (2000) refers to as knowledge objectification processes when learning mathematics will be discussed.
