L'anfiteatro di Sabratha: vecchie indagini e nuove ricerche

L’Anfiteatro di Sabratha, ignorato dai viaggiatori del XVIII e XIX secolo, venne segnalato nel 1912 da Henri Méhier de Mathuisieulx ed indagato da Renato Bartoccini a partire dal 1924. Gli scavi e le ricerche portate avanti in quegli anni permisero di rimettere in luce gran parte del monumento, che rimase tuttavia non pubblicato. Recenti scavi e ricerche hanno adesso permesso di redigere un nuovo rilievo ed un nuovo studio del monumento. Abstract Altered copy number of certain highly repetitive regions of the genome, such as satellite DNA within heterochromatin and ribosomal RNA loci (rDNA), is hypothesized to help safeguard the genome against damage derived from external stressors. We quantified copy number of the 18S rDNA and a pericentromeric satellite DNA (Msat‐160) in bank voles (Myodes glareolus) inhabiting the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (CEZ), an area that is contaminated by radionuclides and where organisms are exposed to elevated levels of ionizing radiation. On the suffix automaton with mismatches

International audience; In this paper we focus on the construction of the minimal deterministic finite automaton S_k that recognizes the set of suffixes of a word w up to k errors. We present an algorithm that makes use of S_k in order to accept in an efficient way the language of all suffixes of w up to k errors in every window of size r, where r is the value of the repetition index of w. Moreover, we give some experimental results on some well-known words, like prefixes of Fibonacci and Thue-Morse words, and we make a conjecture on the size of the suffix automaton with mismatches.

Application of red marbels in the island's architecture was mainly diffused since the XVI century. Many use of these materials are common in religious and civil architecture. This diffusion began during the starting of the extraction of these marbels from quarries in the western area of Sicily. Decisive rule has been the so called "red nodular marble", which the quarries are located in the all west of Sicily, as places as Castellammare and Alcamo, but also Piana degli Albanesi and Bolognetta. The Winter Workshop “Cinema Paradise CAMPUS_Asia: SUAE_Asia 2021” brought to the attention of 14 teams and 5 Universities the challenge of contemporary architectural design in relation to a site of great naturalistic importance. In fact, the Bolognetta Valley, and in particular the location of the cave and the San Nicola waterfall, are located in the Sicilian hinterland, not far from the city of Palermo, in a context-free from the human presence. This article analyzes inner and marginal territories in four Italian peripheral contexts by first discussing some of the results and future steps of the “B4R Branding4Resilience” research project, funded by the Italian Ministry of Research from 2020 to 2023. The overall research is based on three phases: (1) the exploration phase to analyze socio-economic data and territorial dynamics; (2) the co-design phase involving local actors to develop ideas for a selected pilot case; (3) the co-visioning phase where a future transformative perspective for the whole area was shared with the institutions.
