Background: The objectives of the present study were to compare time spent cycling, exercise intensity, and time spent in moderate- (MPA) and vigorous intensity physical activity (VPA) when cycling on an E-bike and a conventional bicycle on two “cycling-to-work” routes with differences in topography, defined as a hilly and a flat route. Methods: Eight adults (23–54 years, two women) cycled outdoors on a conventional bicycle and an E-bike, on a flat (8.2 km) and a hilly (7.1 km) route, resulting in 32 journeys. During donor tissue preparation for Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), either microkeratome or femtosecond laser can be used for intrastromal cutting. We compared morphological and functional outcomes after DSAEK using both cutting techniques.In this retrospective study, 22 uneventful DSAEK surgeries were reviewed. Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery Resection of a Giant Midesophageal Diverticulum

We describe a new video-assisted technique for the management of a giant midesophageal diverticulum using a single 5-cm port. It maintained the same principles of the traditional open technique as diverticulectomy, myotomy, and fundoplication. The better visualization of the main esophageal body, diverticulum, and esophagogastric junction and the better alignment of the stapler cartridge to the longitudinal axis of the esophagus are all technical factors supporting our procedure. Heavily calcified mediastinal lymph nodes and diffuse pleural adhesions are the main contraindications. BACKGROUND: Spinal muscular atrophy type 1 (SMA1) is a progressive disease and is usually fatal in the first year of life. METHODS: A retrospective chart review was performed of SMA1 patients and their outcomes according to the following choices: letting nature take its course (NT); tracheostomy and invasive mechanical ventilation (TV); continuous noninvasive respiratory muscle aid (NRA), including noninvasive ventilation; and mechanically assisted cough. RESULTS: Of 194 consecutively referred patients enrolled in this study (103 males, 91 females), NT, TV, and NRA were chosen for 121 (62.3%), 42 (21.7%), and 31 (16%) patients, respectively. Material and Methods This study involved confirmed Covid-19 patients whose treatment completed at least two weeks ago. A questionnaire consist of eight parts was applied to explore the oral findings after Covid-19. Also stimulated salivary flow rate was evaluated with a salivary flow test. Despite the pessimistic concerns about the outcome of assisted reproduction in Italy after the application of the new law, initial reports show similar pregnancy rates. However, with increasing numbers, the deleterious effect of such a restrictive law will show up. Moreover, it may seriously affect the scientific production of Italian groups, which may be forced to migrate to other countries to maintain their independence and scientific freedom.

In this technical note, we describe an innovative use of real-time mixed reality during robotic-assisted transanal total mesorectal excision.
