Joint Alignment and Modeling of Correlated Behavior Streams

The Variable Time-Shift Hidden Markov Model (VTS- HMM) is proposed for learning and modeling pairs of cor- related streams. Unlike previous coupled models for time series, the VTS-HMM accounts for varying time shifts be- tween correlated events in pairs of streams having different properties. The VTS-HMM is learned on a set of pairs of unaligned streams and, thus, learning entails simultaneous estimation of the varying time shifts and of the parameters of the model. Las aulas de comunicación y lenguaje son unidades de educación especial en centros ordinarios que atienden al alumnado con un Trastorno Mixto del Lenguaje Receptivo-Expresivo o con Trastornos Generalizados del Desarrollo. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el funcionamiento de un aula CYL de un colegio público de educación infantil y primaria situado en Valencia, a través de la observación, el análisis documental y las entrevistas a los profesionales; asimismo si las aulas CYL son un instrumento que favorece la inclusión educativa de este alumnado en los centros ordinarios.

Low prevalence of substance-use disorder has been reported in adults with autism. However, on a superficial level, adults with high-functioning autism (HFA) display a ‘normal’ facade when they drink alcohol, which may explain why their alcohol dependency is not better diagnosed. Here, we report two cases of HFA adults who use alcohol and psychostimulants to cope with their anxiety and improve their cognitive abilities and social skills. We analyze how neurocognitive traits associated with HFA may be potential triggers for substance-use disorder. The study reports an intervention study on a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The intervention was conducted using some activities included in the RE4BES protocol, a collection of guidelines for the implementation of educational robots intervention for children and young people with special educational eeeds. To assess the efficacy of the intervention, an A-B-A quasi-experimental design was used, in which the involved child was repeatedly evaluated before, during and after treatment.
