Il contributo prende in esame i principali soggetti del sistema dell’arte, come artisti, curatori, critici, collezionisti, gallerie, musei e fiere, analizzando la nascita del fenomeno in riferimento a protagonisti e movimenti di epoca contemporanea e offrendo spunti di riflessione sulle dinamiche che regolano tale network complesso e affascinate. The contribution explores the main players of the art system (artists, curators, critics, collectors, galleries, museums and art fairs) examining this phenomenon in reference to contemporary artists and movements and offering a reflection on the dynamics which regulate this complex and fascinating network.

Confronto TAC – MRI per lo studio della cinetica di assorbimento dell’acqua in materiali lapidei

Vengono messe a confronto due tecniche, la Risonanza Magnetica (MRI) e la tomografia assiale computerizzata (TAC), per ottenere informazioni quantitative sulla cinetica di assorbimento dell’acqua in sezioni interne di materiali lapidei. Entrambe le tecniche permettono di studiare adeguatamente il fenomeno. Nel caso in cui si formi un fronte di bagnamento, come per la Pietra di Lecce, l’analisi delle immagini consente di determinare in modo quantitativo l’altezza di risalita in funzione del tempo ed i dati possono essere interpretati alla luce del modello di Washburn per l’assorbimento capillare. Metals distribution in the organic and inorganic fractions of soil: A case study on soils from Sicily

The content of Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn, has been determined in the organic and inorganic fraction of eight soil samples from Sicily. A modified type-Tessier sequential extraction procedure has been used to recognize metals in five different fractions categorised as follows: (a) exchangeable metals, (b) metals bound to carbonates, (c) metals bound to iron and manganese oxides, (d) metals bound to organic matter, and (e) metals in residual fraction. Multi-technical approach for the characterization of polychrome decorative surfaces at Spanish Mission Churches in Nueva Vizcaya (Chihuahua, Mexico)

An interdisciplinary and multi-institutional group of science and art conservation specialists has provided new insight into the painting materials used in the polychrome walls and wooden ceilings in four seventeenth century Spanish colonial churches of Nueva Vizcaya (Chihuahua, Mexico). A multi-analytical study of the decorative surfaces was performed in situ using spectroscopic approaches (XRF, FORS), False Colour Infrared Reflectography – IRFC, as well as micro sampling for ATR-FTIR, LM and GC/MS laboratory analyses.
