Uz ultrasonogrāfiju balstīta augšdelma muskuļaudu morfometriska izpēte

2019

Tēmas aktualitāte. Sasniegumi attēldiagnostikas metožu attīstībā rada jaunas iespējas muskuļu morfometrijas pētīšanai in vivo. Plašas pieejamības un relatīvi nelielu izmaksu dēļ pētnieki cenšas attīstīt ultrasonogrāfijas metodes un pierādīt to augsto uzticamību muskuļu kustību pētīšanai in vivo. Dziļāka muskuļu morfometrijas izpratne ļautu labāk saprast kustību biomehānismu un muskuloskeletālās sistēmas funkcionālās norises. Diplomdarba mērķis. Izstrādāt un aprobēt metodoloģiju ultrasonogrāfiskai m. biceps brachii morfometrijai kontrakcijas laikā. Metodes un materiāli. Eksperimentāla tipa pētījumā piedalījās pieci veseli vīrieši vecumā no 25 līdz 35 gadiem. Eksperimenta laikā katram dalībni…

Regulatory networks underlying mycorrhizal development delineated by genome-wide expression profiling and functional analysis of the transcription fa…

2017

Background: Ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi develop a mutualistic symbiotic interaction with the roots of their host plants. During this process, they undergo a series of developmental transitions from the running hyphae in the rhizosphere to the coenocytic hyphae forming finger-like structures within the root apoplastic space. These transitions, which involve profound, symbiosis-associated metabolic changes, also entail a substantial transcriptome reprogramming with coordinated waves of differentially expressed genes. To date, little is known about the key transcriptional regulators driving these changes, and the aim of the present study was to delineate and functionally characterize the trans…

pH and salivary sodium bicarbonate during the administration protocol for methotrexate in children with leukemia

2007

Objective: To analyze the behavior of pH and sodium bicarbonate (NAHCO3) in the saliva of patients with leukemia during the administration protocol for Methotrexate (Mtx). Materials and Methods: A controlled clinical essay was carried out on 23 patients between 4 and 18 years of age with high-risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Sampling was carried out at To : basal condition; T1 : 12 hours after intravenous administration of sodium bicarbonate, before administering Mtx and T2 : 3 hours after administering Mtx, the time of maximum concentration. Chiron-Diagnostic 378® equipment was used to determine pH and sodium bicarbonate. The data was interpreted using Analysis of Variance at the 5% sign…

Infrastructural and Human Factors Affecting Safety Outcomes of Cyclists

2018

The increasing number of registered road crashes involving cyclists during the last decade, and the high proportion of road crashes resulting in severe injuries and fatalities among cyclists constitutes a global issue for community health, urban development, and sustainability. Nowadays, the incidence of many risk factors for road crashes of cyclists remains largely unexplained. Given the importance of this issue, the present study has been conducted with the aim of determining relationships between infrastructural, human factors and safety outcomes of cyclists. Objectives: This study aimed, first, to examine the relationship between key infrastructural and human factors present in cycling,…

Injury and Throwing Distance in Teenage Cyclist- Vehicle Crash

2016

The study of the injury caused by vehicle-teenage cyclist crash is presented in this paper. The results of the crash with three vehicles: sedan, SUV and Pick up are compared. Three different positions are analyzed: front, rear and lateral position. The injury on the cyclist head is examined by HIC criterion, in the way indicated by the rules. A comparison is done between the results of the simulations for Pick up, SUV and sedan, concluding that the injury of the head is more dangerous for Pick-up impact than SUV or the sedan, but only at greater speed than 40 km/h. Teenage cyclist is more likely to suffer an injury to the chest in rear impacts with the sedan, because 3 ms values remain abov…

HIC evaluation in teenage cyclist – SUV accident

2015

The study of the crash between normal sedan and teenage cyclist was examined in previous paper, and is here continued analyzing the influence of the front part of the vehicle in the injury caused by the accident. The vehicle is a SUV, with high frontal part. No variation is executed on the model of the teenage cyclist and the bike. The position of the teenage cyclist regard to SUV is the same: three different positions are analyzed: front, rear and lateral position. The injury on the cyclist head is examined by HIC criterion, in the way indicated in the rules. Correlation HIC – AIS is used to calculate the lethality of the injuries. The work is arranged to calculate the damage to the chest …

Teenage cyclist - Pick up crash by multibody simulation; HIC evaluation and comparison with previous results

2016

The study of the injury caused by Pick-up vehicle-teenage cyclist crash is presented in this paper. The vehicle has high frontal part, in order to compare the results with those obtained previously in the sedan and SUV - teenage cyclist crash. No variation is executed on the model of the teenage cyclist and the bike. Three different positions are analyzed: front, rear and lateral position. The injury on the cyclist head is examined by HIC criterion, in the way indicated in the rules. Correlation HIC – AIS is used to calculate the lethality of the injuries. A comparison is made between the results of the simulations for Pick up, SUV and sedan, concluding that the injury of the head is more d…

Biomechanics Parameters in the Vehicle-Cyclist Crash with Accident Analysis in Palermo

2014

The vehicle-bicyclist impact is studied in this paper. After analysis of the accidents in Palermo in the last years, the multibody simulation of the crash is executed by making use of Visual Nastran. Dummy, car and bicycle are those used in previous works. The attention is on a teenage cyclist, because the data on this argument are found in literature with difficulty. The impact is simulated at four different speeds until 50 km/h, with three different positions of the cyclist relative to the vehicle: frontal, side and rear. In particular the injury of the head is analyzed using the parameter HIC and the chest injury is analyzed by 3 ms criterion; the likelihood AIS 4+ is calculated, conclud…
